Hey friends! So recently, we went to DC and NYC and we wanted to share with you all what we did. :)This trip was so much different for us because we usually go out of the country for vacation and we have rarely been in the States. The reason why we post about our trips is for other people to realize that you should go out and see other places, instead of stay in one place your whole entire life. If you stay in one place, you won't be able to have as many opportunities and see many different cultures that you might never get to experience. DAY 1 This day is the day that we arrived in DC. We spent most of the day on a plane because we live way down south, so it takes a lot longer to get there. We had to travel by ourselves for the first time which we were very nervous at first but then it turned into a great experience for us. Once we got there we left our hotel and went to all the memorials. We traveled mainly on foot but we also took the metro system which is pretty cool. The metro system was so much fun to take. In DC there is a lot of beautiful flowers and parks. So we got to walk through many parks and it was so beautiful. We finally arrived outside of the White House and to be honest its so much smaller in person. When we were walking up to it there was a huge protesting group which was very interesting. The locals told us that there is always protesting there. Then we went to the memorials and it was so gorgeous because the sun was going down and the buildings were lit up. DAY 2 The reason why we went to DC was because our Dad was chosen from the EEOC out of three people to speak for them and the American Disability Act. The reason why he was chosen was because he was discriminated by a car dealership that he worked for because of his disability. He also changed the law for people with his disability. Our Dad has MS which is a disability that makes all of his joints hurt and it makes him harder to get up and move. He has a lot of pain and some days he would stay in bed all day but he has good and bad days. We are very proud of him to still push through everyday and have an opportunity like this. So that day we had to dress up nice and go to the department of justice building to see our dad speak. The attorney General, the Senator, Paul Abdul and many other significant others were there speaking also. After that we went to the EEOC office and he also spoke there. Then we went to the hotel and rested because it was a very long day for us. Then we went to China Town and ate dinner there. DAY 4 This day we went to 2 museums. We went to the natural history and art museum. We honestly do not like going to museums much but we really did see a lot of neat things there. We then walked through this sculpture garden. Then we walked a very long way to the Capitol and it was so hot that day so, it took us a while to get there. We got to tour inside the Capitol which was very petty inside. It was under construction while we were there, so we didn't get to see many rooms inside it. DAY 5 Early that morning we went on a bus to New York City. We liked traveling on that bus because we got to see the whole east coast. We went to New York just for a day to see our older sister who was taking Broadway classes there. We first walked to Times Square and it was so much smaller in person then it was in a movie but it was very neat to see. Then we went on a ferry ride that we thought was going to Ellis Island but actually went to a different island. It was still cool to see because we got to see the whole city from afar. We then ate at a hot dog stand because why not in New York. After that we met our sister at her hotel. She then walked us down to this unique market place. Sadly it was time for us to leave New York and head back to DC. Well that is it for this post. We hope you all liked it. Sorry that this post was very long but the next posts hopefully won't be this long. Thank you all for reading this and come back for more posts. :)
